‘Tis the season to celebrate at Travelle at The Langham. Whether you’re looking to feast at the luxurious dining destination along the picturesque Chicago River or opting for an indulgent meal from the comfort of home, Travelle offers several dine-in and to-go options that will surely make for an unforgettable holiday celebration.
The Langham Chicago’s Cookie Decorating:
Ahead of the popular Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights Parade, on Thursday, November 20 from 2-4 p.m., The Langham, Chicago hosts cookie decorating with acclaimed Pastry Chef Nitin Bali. Attendees can enjoy festively themed food and beverage stations throughout the event space to accompany holiday cookie decorating tips and tricks. Prices are $150 per adult and $75 per child, and reservations are required with prepayment via The Langham, Chicago Tock.
On Thursday, November 25 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Travelle will offer a one-day prix fixe menu complete with all the traditional Turkey Day trimmings. Starters include Veloute of Celeriac (Celery Root Soup) with rosemary ham, celery, and truffled delice and Foie de Poulet with concord grapes, bitter greens, and lemon rosemary. The main course will feature Green Circle Turkey Breast with sage butter stuffing, cranberry sauce along with guajillo Chile turkey carnitas, mole gravy, charred tomato salsa, and tortillas with shared sides for the table including stuffing, Brussels sprouts, and corn & sweet potato casserole. The featured dessert dish, Fallen Leaves, is made with maple ganache, cinnamon tuile, salted caramel ice cream, and candied almonds. Thanksgiving To Go:
For a relaxing Thanksgiving feast at home, guests can purchase a to-go, ready-to-eat Turkey Day dinner. The Whole Turkey package ($540) features an 18–20-pound turkey and is available with herb-roasted or Jamaican jerk seasoning. Both options serve 10 people. The Just the Sides package ($165) serves six to eight guests and features favored fixins’ including whipped confit garlic pommes puree ($18), sweet potato casserole with pecan and vanilla crumble ($24), and cranberry and orange chutney ($12). The to-go feast also includes a choice of one decadent seasonal pie – pumpkin, pecan, or apple – and pies are also available for à la carte purchase ($35 each), along with signature sides offered for purchase by the pound. Orders are due by November 18 at noon, and pre-payment is required through the Travelle Tock. Pickup is from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 25.
Leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday, on Tuesday, November 23, and Wednesday, November 24 from noon to 6:30 p.m., the Travelle team welcomes guests to check out their Pop-Up Pie shop with freshly baked seasonal showpieces by Pastry Chef Nitin. Available pies include apple pie, bourbon pecan pie, and grandma’s pumpkin pie – each for $35. Pies are available for pre-order via the Travelle Tock.
In celebration of the Festival of Lights, Travelle offers Hanukkah-themed specials on its dinner menu beginning Sunday, November 28 through Monday, December 6. From 5-10 p.m. during these eight days, Travelle offers dishes including Fried Donut Specials with truffle cream ($7), cheddar jalapeño cream ($6), or spiced apple sauce ($5); Chicken and Tom Yum Soup ($15) with chicken meatballs, lemongrass, ginger, and basil; and for dessert, Apricot Pecan Rugelach ($13) made with apricot jam, toasted pecans, and cinnamon.
Travelle begins the merry holiday by offering guests a Christmas Eve Entrée Special ($82) on Friday, December 24 from 5-10 p.m. The special is intended for two people and will feature a truffled chicken “pot pie” for two adorned with herb-roasted chicken, truffled confit thighs, black trumpets, and Caroline ruby sweet potatoes.
On Saturday, December 25, Travelle is truly decking the halls with two extraordinary dining offerings. With seating times between 11 a.m.-3 p.m., delight in Travelle’s spectacular, family-friendly Christmas Day Buffet: an expansive presentation with festive action stations throughout the lobby. Choose from a variety of breakfast favorites, omelets made to order, artisanal cheese and cured meats, exquisite sushi and seafood options, and heavenly pastries. The buffet is $195 per adult and $60 for children 5-12 years of age, and pre-payment and reservations are required through the Travelle Tock.
To round out the jolly festivities, guests can relish in the Christmas Day Prix Fixe Dinner ($165 per adult) from 5-10 p.m. The six-course dinner celebrates the luxurious traditions of the season beginning with a Royal Kaluga Caviar Amuse, Beet Root Panna Cotta Salad, and Wild Mushroom Risotto appetizer, followed by a Roasted Prime Filet entrée. To top off the experience, the dessert service features Mont Blanc and Petit fours by Chef Nitin.
New Year’s Eve:
Ring in the new year at Travelle with a New Year’s Eve Prix Fixe Dinner on Friday, December 31 with seating times between 5-10 p.m. The seven-course prix fixe menu celebrates grandeur and opulence, featuring dishes including Nantucket Bay Scallop Ceviche, Hudson Valley Foie Gras appetizer, and Grilled Australian Wagyu NY Strip. To finish off a magnificent dining experience, guests can enjoy an indulgent dessert with Intermezzo featuring lemon with Grand Marnier and an extravagant Chocolate Experience with Manjari mousse, praline creameux, and hazelnut ice cream. A splendid wine collection will also be available à la carte. Reservations must be made in advance through the Travelle Tock and pre-payment is required at $190 per adult.
